Race Pace is an iPhone app operated by me, Ruaridh Bell, a sole trader based in Scotland. In these terms, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to Ruaridh Bell. By downloading or using Race Pace you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the app.
Race Pace is an independent, unofficial app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Formula 1, the FIA, any championship organiser, or any team or driver. All trademarks and trade names belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe the events the app covers.
I grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Race Pace on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, redistribute, sell or rent the app, reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing product. This licence ends automatically if you break these terms.
You need an account to use Race Pace, created with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your Apple ID secure. One account per person. I may suspend or close an account that abuses the service or these terms.
Race Pace is free to use. Race Pace PRO is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks live timing, race control messages, team radio and pit stop data, on-device AI summaries, and Live Activities.
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under their terms and I cannot issue them directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer, including any statutory cancellation rights.
Timing, results, standings and weather come from third-party sources and are provided for information only. Live timing may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and sessions can be re-classified after they finish. Nothing shown in Race Pace is official, and it should not be relied on where accuracy matters — in particular, do not use it to make betting or wagering decisions. Official results are published by the relevant governing body.
I will do my best to keep Race Pace running, but I can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. Live timing depends on third-party data feeds and may stop working for reasons outside my control. I may change, suspend or discontinue features, including PRO features. If I withdraw something significant that you have paid for, get in touch and I’ll sort out a fair resolution.
Don’t use Race Pace to break the law, don’t try to reach parts of the service you aren’t entitled to, don’t scrape, bulk-download or resell data from it, and don’t interfere with its operation or with other users. Automated access to the API from outside the app is not permitted.
Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, are not affected.
Subject to that, Race Pace is provided “as is”. I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit. Where I am liable, my total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Race Pace in the twelve months before the claim arose.
These terms are between you and me, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Race Pace or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change, and I’ll flag anything significant in the app. Continuing to use Race Pace after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
